November 5, 2008 - Job Shadowing.

Hehee.. All the Grade 9s had a Job Shadowing field trip. Job shadowing is when we shadow our parents/their friends to work and do what ever they do! Today, I went to the BC Cancer Agency Library. My mom doesn't work there, but she has a friend who does. I shadowed a lady named Dolly. She was the library techie. I learned to catalogue, classify, process books. I even got to attend a staff meeting! It was so funny because the co-workers were arguing. LOL. But everybody was very nice and welcoming. I met 4 other librarians. =) Overall, it was an interesting experience because this library had a very different setting from school and the public libraries. All the books there were specifically about medical stuff - especially cancer. They had Medical dictionaries, Medical journals, references, brochures, etc. =D
